SMS Management

The SMS section provides a complete history of all messages processed through TextGem. It enables administrators to monitor message delivery, search SMS records, filter results, and track the status of every SMS sent through connected devices.

Overview

The SMS page displays detailed information about outgoing messages, including the sending device, recipient, message content, delivery status, processing logs, and timestamps. It serves as a centralized location for monitoring SMS activity and troubleshooting delivery issues.

SMS Log

The SMS table contains a complete record of messages sent through the platform.

Available Information

Each SMS record includes:

Device Name
Date and Time
Recipient Number
Message Content
Message Type
Delivery Status
Delivery Log
Processing Time

This information helps administrators verify message delivery and monitor SMS performance.

Search SMS

Use the Search SMS field to quickly locate a specific message.

To Search SMS Records

Click inside the Search SMS field.
Enter a keyword, recipient number, or message reference.
Matching SMS records will automatically appear.

Filter SMS Records

The SMS page includes several filters that help narrow search results.

Available Filters

Device – Display messages sent from a specific device.
Status – Filter messages by delivery status.
Type – View messages by message type.
Customer – Display messages for a selected customer.
Date – Filter records for a specific date.

Using these filters makes it easier to analyze messaging activity across multiple devices and customers.

Send SMS

The Send SMS button allows administrators to send a new SMS directly from the platform.

To Send an SMS

Click Send SMS.
Select the sending device.
Enter the recipient's mobile number.
Type the message content.
Send the message.
The SMS will appear in the SMS log after processing.

Message Status

The Status column displays the current delivery state of each SMS.

Common Status Values

Processing – The message is currently being processed.
Sent – The message has been sent to the mobile device.
Delivered Success – The message was successfully delivered to the recipient.
Failed – The message could not be delivered.

Monitoring message status helps identify delivery issues quickly.

Delivery Logs

The Log column provides additional information about the SMS delivery process.

Log Details May Include

SMS delivered successfully
Processing updates
Delivery confirmation
Error information (if applicable)

These logs are useful for diagnosing failed or delayed messages.

Processing Time

The Time column records important timestamps during the SMS lifecycle.

Available Information

Time sent to the mobile device
Status update time
Delivery confirmation time

These timestamps help administrators monitor message processing speed and delivery performance.

Sending an SMS Overview

The Send SMS page provides a simple interface for composing and delivering SMS messages. It supports sending messages to one or multiple recipients and helps ensure that messages are delivered through the selected connected device.

Select a Device

The Device field allows you to choose the Android device that will be used to send the SMS.

To Select a Device

Click the Device dropdown.
Choose a connected and active device.
Verify that the selected device is online before continuing.

Why It Matters

Select the correct sending device.
Use the appropriate customer device.
Ensure the device is available for message delivery.

Select a SIM Card

The SIM field displays the SIM cards available on the selected device.

To Select a SIM

Click the SIM dropdown.
Select the SIM card that will be used to send the SMS.
Confirm the selected SIM has an active mobile network.

Support devices with multiple SIM cards.
Control which SIM is used for sending messages.

Enter Recipient Numbers

The Recipient field is used to enter one or more mobile numbers.

To Add Recipients

Enter the recipient's mobile number.
To send to multiple recipients, separate each number with a comma.
Verify all numbers before sending.

Select a Message Template

The Template dropdown allows you to use a predefined SMS template.

To Use a Template

Click the Template dropdown.
Select the required template.
The message content will automatically populate if configured.

Choose When to Send

The Send Now option determines when the SMS should be delivered.

Available Options

Send Now – Immediately send the SMS.
Schedule – Send the SMS at a later date and time (if enabled).

This provides flexibility for planned campaigns and scheduled reminders.

Compose Your Message

Use the Message field to type the SMS content.

Guidelines

Keep the message clear and concise.
Verify spelling and recipient information.
Ensure the message complies with your organization's communication policies.

Send the SMS

Once all required information has been entered, the message is ready to send.

To Send a Message

Select a device.
Choose the SIM card.
Enter one or more recipients.
Select a template if required.
Choose whether to send immediately or schedule the message.
Enter the message content.
Click Send.

The SMS will be processed and recorded in the SMS log.

Cancel the Operation

If you do not want to send the message, click Cancel to discard the current form and return to the previous page.

Verify that the selected device is online before sending.
Confirm recipient numbers are entered correctly.
Use templates for frequently sent messages.
Review the message content before submitting.
